A very special congratulations are in order to Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel attorney Schuyler A. Smith of our Miami office on her admission to the US Supreme Court with Chief Justice Roberts.
Schuyler was born and raised in Mandeville, Jamaica. She obtained her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with honors, from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. While in law school, Ms. Smith served as an Editor for the St. Thomas Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, and was active in the Moot Court and Mock Trial Programs.
Ms. Smith represents hotels, physicians and medical providers, major cruise lines, product manufacturers and distributors, international businesses, transportation companies, underwriters, including major marine domestic and international underwriters in state and federal court. She handles matters stemming from wrongful death, personal injury claims, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, mass tort and class actions, sexual assault claims, labor and employment, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, excursion liabilities, negligent security claims, premises liability claims, and claims asserted under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
