HM&B All Female Trial Team Secures a Complete Defense Verdict for a Big Box Retailer After 4-Day Trial

Tom Munoz v. Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, et al.

No. 2017-023406-CA-01 (Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County, Florida)

Plaintiff alleges he was traveling through the store using his knee caddy when a Walmart employee ran into him and knocked him off his knee caddy. Plaintiff, a recent amputee at the time of the incident, claimed Walmart’s negligence caused him to suffer injuries to his amputated stump and, therefore, he was required to undergo two additional revision surgeries. After three (3) days, the jury agreed Walmart and its employee were not liable for the incident and returned a defense verdict in Walmart and the employee’s favor. Plaintiff sought over $400,000 in damages.  Suzette L. Russomanno and Natalie Dueñas were the trial lawyers from the HM&B trial team who secured a complete defense verdict for Walmart.
