Claimant Brenda Smith alleged that a sudden onset of right hand pain was causally related to her employment at The Angelus, Inc., a residential program for people with disabilities. She did not know how the employment caused her right hand pain, but alleged it was not present when she began her shift. The Claimant offered no medical evidence to support any possible causal connection between her work activities and the right hand injury. Gina M. Jacobs, Esq., prevailed on behalf of the Employer and their Carrier, PMA Management Corporation, by securing a Summary Final Order from Judge John P. Moneyham in the St. Petersburg District Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims. Judge Moneyham agreed there was no evidence that would lead to a finding that the right hand injuries were compensable. The claim was dismissed with prejudice, relieving the Employer/Carrier of liability for workers’ compensation benefits.
