Karrie Cook is a partner in the firm’s Miami office. Karrie is a trial attorney who focuses her practice in first party property litigation. She also brings a strong background in bad faith and construction defect litigation. Karrie is widely recognized for her collaborating skills in bringing claims to their proper resolutions. She has secured numerous favorable settlements, summary judgment orders, and dismissals for her insurer clients.

Karrie earned her B.S. in Economics from Florida State University and her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law. During law school, she received the Book Award in Mediation and volunteered with the Leon County Teen Court Program, mentoring middle school students through its mock trial process.

Outside of her legal practice, Karrie enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

  • Obtained order granting summary judgment in case brought by assignee under an assignment of benefits contract where insurer had paid $3,000 statutory limit. (Titan Tarps and Services LLC v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Broward County Case No. COCE23033048).
  • Successfully argued motion for summary judgment at hearing in case brought by assignee roofer, wherein Court held that Plaintiff failed to meet initial burden of showing direct physical loss during the policy period. (His and Hers Roofing a/a/o Valero v. Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Hillsborough County Case No. 24-CC-005034).
  • Obtained dismissals of various cases brought by Assignees with invalid assignment contracts through Motions for Judgment on the Pleading and Motions to Dismiss.
