Karmen K. Groeling is a partner and trial lawyer in the Miami office of Hamilton Miller & Birthisel. Karmen draws from over 18 years of experience to offer her clients representation on a variety of matters, from pre-suit disputes through all phases of litigation, including mediations and trials. She is a skilled litigator whose ability to quickly analyze and evaluate cases has benefited clients in obtaining favorable results.

Karmen began her career as an Assistant State Attorney where she tried over 60 jury and bench trials to verdict within 3 years’ time. Karmen then managed her own criminal defense law practice for several years before transitioning into the world of civil litigation. For the past 8 years Karmen has represented and defended multiple insurance providers. For many years she was a partner in a boutique law firm where she represented insurance carriers in the areas of automobile insurance and first party property claims. Karmen has also managed and supervised other attorneys while handling an extensive caseload of her own. Karmen believes strongly that the key to a successful attorney-client relationship is communication. 

When Karmen is not working diligently to defend her clients, she serves as the Vice President of her homeowner’s association, to ensure that her community flourishes.
