Jamie Kainalu Nakoa is an Attorney in the firm’s Miami, Florida office. Ms. Nakoa’s practice is focused on defending premises liability, toxic tort, and personal injury claims. She represents major hotel and resort chains, retailers, Fortune 500 companies, insurers, and cruise lines in state and federal courts throughout Florida.

Prior to joining Hamilton Miller & Birthisel, Ms. Nakoa regularly handled premises liability, employment law, aviation, and general negligence claims at a large Florida defense firm where she successfully handled cases from the pre-suit phase through to post-trial motion practice. She also has experience handling bankruptcy, health law compliance, and commercial litigation matters.

Ms. Nakoa is a Native Hawaiian born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ms. Nakoa earned her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law where she graduated summa cum laude, finishing in the top 2% of her class. While in law school, Ms. Nakoa served as Executive Justice for Academics of the Moot Court Society, Senior Associate for the Nova Law review, Board member for the Nova Trial Association, and was recognized by the National Order of Barristers.
