Jessica Russ is a partner in our Miami office. She is a trial lawyer who focuses primarily on premises liability, general liability and automobile negligence. Jessica is Board Certified in Civil Trial law and has developed a reputation as a staunch advocate and fearless attorney.

Jessica began her legal career at the Office of the Public Defender in Tampa, Florida, where she defended the Constitutional rights of the accused from first appearance through jury trial. During her time at that office, Jessica tried over one hundred jury trials to verdict. Prior to joining HM&B, Jessica practiced as both retained counsel and in house counsel for several nationwide insurance carriers. With a focus on personal injury defense, she tried multiple jury trials to verdict, including matters related to auto, motorcycle and trucking accidents. 

Jessica earned her B.S. degree at Houghton College and her J.D. at the Florida Coastal School of Law.

Away from the office she enjoys traveling with her family, reading, gardening and attending live music shows.

  • Negotiated a high low agreement during trial, within available policy coverage, which led to the negation of a multi-million-dollar verdict and prevented personal exposure for client. Mathurin v. Flores and Jade & James Corp., 24-CA-001891 Hillsborough County, Florida 
  • Obtained a complete defense verdict on contested issues of liability, causation and damages related to motor vehicle accident which led to surgical intervention for claimant and severe property damage. Vega v. Wrasse, 22-CA-000703 Polk County, Florida
  • Presented and successfully argued a Motion to Enforce Settlement in a suit filed against a business related to a motor vehicle accident which led to dismissal of a suit claiming over $50,000.00 in damages.
