Jonathan Riveras is an associate at the firm’s Miami office. Jonathan is a trial attorney who focuses his practice on insurance coverage and has represented numerous insurance carriers throughout the state of Florida in state and federal courts in first-party and third-party property insurance cases. Jonathan is known for his thoughtful legal analysis and his steadfast commitment to effective client advocacy.
Jonathan began his legal career at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases on behalf of the State of Florida, arguing dispositive pre-trial motions and conducting numerous criminal trials. Prior to joining Hamilton Miller & Birthisel, LLP, Jonathan counseled and successfully represented carrier disputes at many large national and international defense firms.
Jonathan earned his B.A. from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor degree from The Florida State University College of Law. He served as the Managing Editor of Business Law Review during his tenure at Florida State. Additionally, Jonathan was a legal extern with the 2nd Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, as well as the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.
Jonathan is fluent in Spanish and was born and raised in Hialeah, FL. During his free time he enjoys strength training, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.
