Our partners, counsel, associates and administrative staff all play key roles in creating and executing our community involvement initiatives.

This collaborative vision strengthens HM&B’s corporate citizenship and invigorates our drive to give back to the community we serve.

A strong level of shared experiences and backgrounds exists within HM&B, which helps build a resilient sense of identity and an affinity for cultivating relationships. The HM&B Brownsville Law Academy

and Mock Courtroom

In 2015, through the collaboration with the Miami-Dade Public Schools Partners Program, HM&B launched its official partnership with and adoption of Brownsville Middle School. The vision of the partnership is to inspire an educational environment that has high expectations for academic rigor and the creation of a culture of pride and excellence.  The HM&B Brownsville Law Academy and Mock Courtroom  supports a culture of academic growth for middle school students centered on a legal studies curriculum in a 21st century mock trial courtroom.  In addition, the HM&B Brownsville mock courtroom serves as an existential learning space for students to view real time local  mock trials from local law firms and other legal organizations.

American Bar Association Law Day at Brownsville Middle School Law Academy

HM&B co-hosted the American Bar Association Law Day at Brownsville Middle School Law Academy. This special event, themed “What Makes A Good Judge” and part of “Voices in our Democracy,” marked the return of this celebration after a hiatus due to the pandemic.

Esteemed state and federal judges from the 11th Judicial Circuit and the Southern District of Florida joined the commemoration, sharing their perspectives and experiences. Chief Judge Nushin G. Sayfie, along with Judges Michelle Delancy, Jason Emilios Dimitris, Tanya Brinkley, and Jackie Becerra, provided insights into the judicial qualities essential for upholding justice in our democracy. After hearing the judges present, the students conducted excerpts of a mock trial of a cyberbullying case.
