Joseph Coluccio is a partner in the firm’s Tampa office.  Joe is a trial attorney who primarily handles first and third party personal injury litigation matters including premises liability, motor vehicle and trucking accidents. Joe is diligent and compassionate.  With over 20 years of experience, he is a skilled litigator who fights hard for his clients. His  ability to quickly spot issues and evaluate cases has benefitted clients in obtaining favorable results. 

Joe began his career as a prosecutor in New York where he successfully handled misdemeanors and felony jury trials.  He later transitioned to private practice as a partner at a large firm located in Nassau County, NY, where he litigated personal injury cases, criminal cases, probate and guardianship cases. He served as the trial managing partner where he supervised and trained attorneys and handled all trials for the firm.  In Florida, he joined the 18th Judicial Circuit’s Public Defender’s office where he worked as an Assistant Public Defender representing the indigent.  He successfully took many criminal cases to verdict on behalf of his clients. Before joining HM&B, Joe was a solo practitioner in Brevard County handling plaintiffs’ personal injury cases, probate and guardianship litigation.

  • New York: Received settlement after mediation in a motor cycle accident for $750,000 after initial offer of $50,000 to prior Plaintiff counsel

  • New York: Took a motor vehicle accident case to jury trial and settled for $850,000 during trial after initial offer of $75,000

  • In Florida, settled wrongful death case after mediation for $1,500,000 (policy limits)

  • Settled premises liability case for $300,000 where Plaintiff broke his foot on a loose board on his own pool deck. Initial offer to the prior attorney was a denial and no pay from his insurance company.

  • Defended multiple defendants in criminal court charged with DUI in Brevard County and received not-guilty verdicts despite BAC readings higher than the legal limit
