Raynard Rigby, KC (King’s Counsel) is a Barrister of Gray’s Inn, London, England. He was admitted to the Bahamas Bar in September, 1995 and the Bar of the Turks and Caicos Islands in June, 1999. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Ontario, Canada with a B.A. in History (1991) and holds a LL.B (Honours) degree from the University of Leeds, Leeds, United Kingdom (1994). After his call to the Bahamas Bar he served in the capacity of an Associate in the Litigation Department of the Chambers of McKinney, Bancroft and Hughes.

Mr. Rigby practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, insurance litigation, personal injury, and negligent security. He frequently appears before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, and has been involved in numerous cases of importance on various points of law.

He is a former part-time Lecturer in Banking Law at the University of the Bahamas. He also has a wide resume in community involvement in The Bahamas, having served as the National Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), acting as an inaugural member of the School Board of the Government High School, and a former President of The Bahamas Family Planning Association.
