Melanie L. Grant has worked in the area of civil litigation since 2006. She represents clients in state and federal court in the areas of first party property insurance and general liability and has handled claims ranging from $10,000.00 to $200 million. She has successfully tried cases at both the state and federal court level. Prior to joining Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel, Ms. Grant was an associate at a national law firm specializing in insurance defense.
Ms. Grant earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law where she was a member of the International Moot Court Team and a recipient of the Kozyak, Tropin & Throckmorton Scholarship Award for Outstanding Achievement in the LRW Mock Trial. While in law school, she clerked at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. She graduated from Florida A&M University, cum laude, with a B.S. in Business Administration.
She is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.
